Brief Breakdown:

  • Explore new ways of observing and recording as part of your Graphic Design practice
  • Seeing can be a deep and critical action, devoid of observer opinion and implicit assumption to find new patterns of knowledge within a complex visual landscape
  • You are to devise and apply a method of investigation to specific, localised area. Your area must be small enough to investigate thoroughly and consider deeply,  so you can use your perspective as a designer to produce new ways of understanding spaces.
  • You may wish to expand on your research by theoretically engaging with social, architectural, or economic histories of your site. How does this impact your research?
  • You should engage with this project not as a route to a single designed outcome, but as a collection of critical findings investigating systems of observation and design.
